10 years and three kids and we just made our first visit to the emergency room! We were getting ready to go to the drive-in movie- the car is loaded, the goodies made. Little miss Tori, in her excitement, went to fast down the stairs and didn't quite make it to the bottom on her own. A big bang on the stair, one deep cut, and much blood later we have stitches! Seven stitches (hopefully a lucky? number).
She was so mad about not getting to go the the movie that she didn't even care about anything else. When Ian tried to hold her in the car to help the bleeding she threw a fit because she wasn't in her car seat "for safety"- That's when we knew that she was going to be ok.
When we got the hospital- not one tear!!!! She milked the nurses and doctors for all she could with her big blue eyes and sunny personality. They could not believe how cute and how tough she was- eight shots, seven stitches and one trip through the Cat scan , "Catty scan" as Tori said- and not one tear or complaint. From the hospitals nurses she scored 5 stickers, one popsickle, a teddybear, a balloon, a "squirtgun" (syringe used for cleaning the wound), and candy. She was so excited about the whole thing! What a fun trip, and better than any ol drive-in movie.

One other note about toughness- the day before Tori had her first visit to the dentist. She did great! She had no problems at all. She got a new purple princess toothbrush and that was enough. The dentist told her that she had to stop sucking her fingers because it was ruining her beautiful princess teeth- Tori has been trying so hard to not suck on her fingers since! I should have taken her earlier! Our little Tori is growing up fast. We are very proud of her.
